Yarbo Tool

Yarbo Tool is available to help with diagnosing and fixing connectivity issues, troubleshooting, and checking/updating firmware.

The Yarbo Tool should be used in the following situations
Connectivity Issues with both Yarbo device and RTK Base:

1.      The Yarbo app cannot connect to the rover via the hotspot connection. [Use the Wi-Fi Connection function in the Rover section]

2.      The hotspot of Yarbo's rover cannot be found on the setting page of the mobile device. [Use the Wi-Fi Channel functions in the Rover section]

3.      The rover cannot be connected to through the app, but it's essential to check the progress of the firmware update. [Use the Firmware Update function in the Rover section]

4.      The RTK Base cannot be connected to Wi-Fi. [Use the Wi-Fi Connection function in the Base section]

Troubleshooting Issues:

1.      The rover is stuck displaying colorful lights and will not reboot. [Use the Deep Clean and Wi-Fi Connection functions]

2.      Remote debugging is required, but there is no internet connection available [Use the Wi-Fi Connection and 4G Connection functions]

Version Checking:

1.      It is necessary to check if the rover is on the latest firmware version. [Use the Firmware Update function to verify the Fetch percentage completed]

Installing Yarbo Tool software:

1.      Download and extract/uncompress software packet (Winzip/winRar)

2.      Launch installer “yarboTool.exe”

3.      When you see the following window, click on “More info”

4.      Click on “Run anyway”

5.      Software will now run

Step-by-Step Instructions for Using Yarbo Tool

Yarbo Device

Step 1: Please find the attachment and download and install the latest version of the Yarbo Tool on your laptop.

Step 2: Connect your laptop Wi-Fi to the Yarbo rover's hotspot. The default hotspot name should be something like "Yarbo_rover_XXXXXX". The password for the initial connection is set to "87654321".


Step 3: Launch the Yarbo Tool application on your laptop. Click on "Disconnect SSH". Verify the serial number shown matches the serial number on the Yarbo rover unit you are connected to.

 

Step 4: Then click the "Refreshbutton. Review the resource usage statistics shown. 



Step 5: Click "Deep Cleanand confirm by clicking "OKwhen prompted. This will clear cached files and data.


Step 6: Select "Wi-Fi Channel" from the left menu. Click the "Switch Channel" button and verify the output in the main window shows {"cmd1":"true"} indicating good status. Note: The loading time may be long or the interface may be stuck, please check whether the Wi-Fi is disconnected.

Step 7: Click the "Check" button under Wi-Fi Channel. Ensure the Wi-Fi channel number shown is between 1-11.


Step 8:  Go to "Wi-Fi Connectionin the left menu. Click the drop-down and select the desired Wi-Fi SSID. If the Wi-Fi network you want to connect to is not shown. Please enter the Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and enter the correct Wi-Fi password. Then, click "Connect".

Step 9: Once connected, click the "Checkbutton and verify the IP address and connection details show the rover is connected to the Wi-Fi network.

 

Step 10: For cellular data, go the "4G Connectionin the left menu. Click the "Open 4G" button to enable the 4G connection. Then click the "Checkbutton and review the status and details shown for the cellular connection.

 



Step 11: Go to "Firmware Updatein the left menu. Look at the "Fetch" status and verify the percentage completed is over 90%. If "Fetch" shows over 90% complete, it indicates the rover is already on the latest firmware version.


 

RTK Base

Step 1: Download and Install Yarbo Tool, ensure you have the latest version of the Yarbo Tool installed on your laptop.

Step 2: Connect your laptop's Wi-Fi to the Yarbo base's hotspot, named something like "Yarbo_base_XXXXXX.” The initial connection password is set to "87654321."

 

Step 3: Open the Yarbo Tool application on your laptop and navigate to the "Wi-Fi Connection" in the Base section.

Step 4: Click on "Get Wi-Fi Status" to verify a successful connection to Yarbo base's hotspot. The Wi-Fi Current Status should display as "Connected."


Step 5: Click "Refresh List" and be patient as the list loads. This may take a moment.

 

Step 6: Choose the desired Wi-Fi SSID from the drop-down menu, enter the correct Wi-Fi password, and then click "Connect."

 

Step 7: Once again, click on "Get Wi-Fi Status" to confirm a successful connection to the Yarbo base's hotspot via Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi Current Status should now show as "Connected."
